I am Kirsten McGrath a home stager in the Monterey California region. I have been staging homes here for 6 years using my eclectic style to help get them sold in a very competitive market. It all started when my husband Matt listed his aunts home in Carmel (he's a real estate broker). It was an estate and she had left behind a home stuffed with too much furniture. After running an estate sale we had to get it ready to sell. The 3 bedroom home had twin beds in every room, dark, heavy window coverings, furniture that was too big in some places and too small in others. With the help of cousin Suzann we got to work, cleaning, moving, pushing beads together, pulling down dusty drapes! When the house went on the market, all the agents asked who the stager was... UH OH!!!! The staging business was born! I started out with one house and after a year I was up to 6 houses at one time.
